Turnknob Mortise Cylinder

Interior thumbturn cylinder for mortise locks.

Use this when your door has a key on both sides and you want to change the inside to a thumbturn. Older doors often had keys on both sides for security. Today, we usually recommend a thumbturn on the inside. It is easier to use and safer if someone needs to get out quickly.

This is a good repair part when you want to keep the existing mortise lock but make it more practical for everyday use.

Measure your existing cylinder before ordering. Most doors probably use a 1-1/8" cylinder, but do not guess if you can check.

This cylinder comes with an Adams Rite cam. You may need to switch the cam from your old cylinder to the new cylinder.

The cylinder is usually held in place by a small set screw in the edge of the door. Loosen the screw, partially insert the key, and turn the old cylinder out.
