Hardware Installation Bit Set

A complete set for starting, predrilling, and driving common hardware screws. The tools are marked with colored heat-shrink tubing so the screw-size family is easy to identify when the bits are loose in the pouch.

Color system

Tools that work for two screw-size families have two color bands.

How to use the set

1. Use the matching self-centering bit to start the hole through the hardware.
2. Follow with the matching brad-point bit to drill the full pilot hole.
3. Install the screw with the matching driver tip.

The brad-point colors are based on hardwood. In softwood, consider using the next smaller color.
